Summer is moving fast, and that means the busy fall season of writers conferences approaches quickly. If you want to get great instruction on publishing and also pitch your work to agents who are building their client list, come to a writers conference later this year. I’ve been asked to instruct at several 2016 events, so let me share several of them that will have literary agents in attendance:
August 11-13, 2016: The Writer’s Digest Conference in New York: This is a big event, and coming up fast. Held in Midtown Manhattan, the event draws up to 1,000 attendees and 50 literary agents each year. There are multiple keynotes and many writing tracks throughout the weekend. But be aware the pitch slam is already sold out for 2016, and general conference attendance will likely sell out, too, so do not delay. (Note: Now that the pitch slam is sold out, there will be an add-on Friday option to meet agents for one-one-one 15-minute consultations.)
August 20, 2016: Toronto Writing Workshop: Both Canadian and American literary agents will be at this one-day event to meet writers and take pitches. There are also several instructional sessions throughout the day.
September 9, 2016: Sacramento Writers Conference: This one-day event features sessions on getting published, pitching agents, and more. 6 literary agents will be present to meet with writers.
September 10, 2016: Writing Workshop of San Francisco: This one-day event features sessions on getting published, pitching agents, and more. 9 literary agents will be present to meet with writers.
Countless writers have found their literary agents and writing partners by attending a workshop.
